Advantage Care Diagnostic and Treatment Centers provide the highest quality healthcare services including primary care, dental, women’s health, psychiatry and podiatry  to children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. 

Advantage Care provides innovative, personalized desensitization programs. These programs, combined with other strategies, reduce the fear and anxiety patients experience prior to and during medical and dental appointments.  Our desentization programs assist patients in feeling comfortable when seeing providers, so they may be cooperative with treatment and successful in following recommendations for improving overall health and well-being.

Located at two convenient locations in Brookville and Freeport, Advantage Care places patient healthcare at the forefront by providing professional and compassionate health services specifically focused on the special needs patient.  Bilingual staff members are available to assist patients and families. 

Advantage Care works in cooperation with North Shore-LIJ Health System’s Department of Dental Medicine Advantage Care can coordinate specialty care in North Shore-LIJ Health System’s dental clinic and operating room if needed.

News & Announcements


New Health Center Opens in Freeport

The Advantage Care Center recently opened its newest health center in Freeport, Frank & Margaret Riva Health Center. The Center includes primary medical care, women's health, dental, psychiatry and podiatry and is licensed by the Department of Health. Hours are Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. with additional hours to be added in 2015. Aspiration is defined as the inhalation of food, fluid, saliva, medication or other foreign material into the trachea and/or lungs. This can occur during swallowing, choking, or if stomach contents are refluxed back into the throat. Although aspiration can occur with anyone, attentiveness to the following information will help identify risk factors, symptoms and interventions important to consider for persons we support.

Advantage Care has achieved the highest recognition granted by the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA): Level III Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH).
